About us

The Southern Migrant and Refugee Centre (SMRC) is a not-for-profit community-based agency providing services to migrants and refugees living in the southern region of Melbourne, including the local government areas of City of Greater Dandenong, City of Casey, Shire of Cardinia, and surrounding suburbs. Since 1993, SMRC has supported the settlement of newly arrived refugees and provided community-based services for migrants and refugees through funded in-language social, economic, health and wellbeing programs.

SMRC provides a wide range of aged care services, ensuring that older community members have access to care and support that is culturally sensitive, and in-language where required.

SMRC operates a multicultural labour hire service, which provides a culturally sensitive and in-language alternative to in-home care.

The vision of SMRC is to ensure that migrants and refugees are enabled to achieve their goals and aspirations. We exist to support and empower migrants and refugees through our delivery of programs and services that are innovative, inclusive, and impactful.

The Position

Full Time -Ongoing Role

Do you have the skills and passion to drive high-quality program delivery for SMRC clients?

SMRC is seeking a dynamic and experienced Service Planning & Coordination Officer towork collaboratively with SMRC's clients and case managers to plan, organise, deliver and maintain a high standard of service/program delivery.

This role is responsible for managing client transport logistics, procuring goods and services, and ensuring food safety compliance to provide safe, culturally appropriate, and accessible programs.

You will also be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of SMRC's bus fleet ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

This role is pivotal in ensuring that clients receive the necessary support to improve their overall well-being and quality of life.

Person Specification

We are looking for someone with:

* Minimum of Diploma Qualification in Community Services.
* Relevant demonstrated experience in Aged Care and Carer Support.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
* Experience in logistical management of service delivery, including client attendance, communication pathways, processes, documentation and timelines are in place for smooth delivery of the program.
* A commitment to delivering culturally safe and inclusive services.
