The Pilbara Engagement Centre is located in Port Hedland and provides services and supports to schools across the Pilbara region.
The successful applicant residing in location in Port Hedland is eligible to receive a District Allowance in **** of $9,299 per year, and an Attraction and Retention Allowance of $4,887.
About SSEN:BE SSEN:BE is part of the network of specialist schools operating under the Statewide Services pillar of Service Delivery.
SSEN:BE provides educational support and services with schools for students who present with extreme, complex and challenging behaviours across a K-12 context.
A continuum of support is delivered through Engagement Centres and the Midland Learning Academy.
The services of Engagement Centres and the Academy are coordinated through SSEN:BE which provides the administrative structure that oversees and manages these services as a Statewide model of supports for schools, teachers and students.
The services complement other teams working in networks, regions and schools, supporting a greater number of students across the state.
Support is available across the public school system.
Engagement Centres coordinate the K-12 provision of the following services: Professional learning to improve student engagement and behaviour Consultative support for schools needing additional assistance with planning for those students with very complex needs Direct and indirect support for individual students exhibiting the most extreme, challenging and complex needs.
Find out more about our school by visiting or The Role Psychologists are integral to the work of the SSEN:BE, with professional leadership and support for the team provided by lead school psychologists, who also coordinate specialised training relevant to the role.
As a SSEN:BE school psychologist, you will develop, implement and evaluate individual interventions for students from Kindergarten to Year 12, and assist schools to maintain safe and supportive learning environments.
You will provide psychological assessment and consultancy services to school and Engagement Centre staff and establish and maintain effective working relationships to improve student behaviour and engagement.
Collaboration with other school psychologists, lead school psychologists and other specialist teams within and external to the Department will be a key feature of the role, to assist with the integration and coordination of relevant student support services.
As a suitable applicant, you should have well developed interpersonal and communication skills and ideally experience in the area of student behaviour and engagement.
As this position requires the ability to work independently as a psychologist and is of a more specialist nature, you will ideally possess general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
This role will involve travel between sites in the region, which may include overnight stays and air travel in light aircraft.
