About the role
Lead the definition and delivery of the
systems integration
work program for mission and support systems across the acquisition and sustainment phases of the portfolio, ensuring alignment with stakeholder expectations, contract deliverables and integration objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Define systems integration boundaries, interfaces and dependencies for mission systems and support systems interacting with CMATS and other systems.
* Clarify and document roles & responsibilities between various departments.
* Review existing program artefacts (capability documentation, integration plans, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), risk and issue registers, acquisition & sustainment strategies) and identify gaps, inconsistencies or outdated materials.
* Conduct gap analysis for mission and support system integration, identify incomplete work packages, missing solution coverage, and develop remediation recommendations.
* Map integration tasks to program phases (integration, verification, validation, operational/acceptance test & evaluation, commissioning) and align to milestones and dependencies.
* Facilitate workshops with functional leads (engineering, operations, safety), program leadership and external vendors to validate findings and approach.
* Lead stakeholder engagement across vendors and partners and prepare deliverables
* Address key considerations including system capability maturity, artefact inventory and integration touch-points, constraints (technical, regulatory, operational), success criteria and performance metrics.
Required Skills & Experience:
* Minimum 5 years'
systems integration
experience, preferably within defence/aerospace or telecommunications domains.
* Experience managing or delivering ASDEFCON suite contracts.
* Understanding of Defence stakeholders (CASG, Capability Managers) and working in aerospace/defence industry environment.
* Strong consultancy and business architecture capability, aligned with SFIA Level 5: takes responsibility for understanding client requirements, analyzing data, delivering solutions and collaborating with stakeholder groups.
* Demonstrated ability in project management: scoping, resource estimation, scheduling, monitoring progress and reporting to plan.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Membership of Engineers Australia and the Australian Institute of Project Management desirable.
