Overview
Griffith Base Hospital is seeking a new Anaesthetist to join a team of very experienced anaesthetists and GP anaesthetists. This is during a period of redevelopment funded at approximately $250 million to deliver state-of-the-art facilities and enhanced health services closer to home. The redevelopment is scheduled for completion in 2025. The role is based at Griffith Base Hospital, a 114-bed level 4 regional referral facility providing a range of services.

What you'll be doing
Provide contemporary comprehensive specialist anaesthetic services for optimal patient outcomes.
Provide and support training to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.
Where you'll be working
Griffith Base Hospital is a 114-bed level 4 regional referral facility with a broad range of acute services including Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, General Surgery, Paediatrics, Oncology, Haematology, Obstetrics, Intensive Care, Respiratory Medicine, Endocrinology, Neurology, Rehabilitation, Renal Dialysis and Rheumatology. Diagnostic services include Pathology, CT, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, and General X-Ray. Allied Health services include Physiotherapy, Dietetics, Pharmacy and Aboriginal Health.
Selection criteria
Holds registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist in Anaesthesia and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
Demonstrated effective clinical communication through information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
Significant experience relevant to anaesthetic practice and competence in skills relevant to Australian rural hospital practice, including trauma and emergency scenarios.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership.
Commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on-site within a reasonable time.
Commitment to NSW Health CORE values and MLHD values, goals and strategies.
