We’re looking for a proactive, agile, and commercially minded lawyer to support the Governance and Corporation Operations team. Working closely with the General Counsel, you will provide practical, solution‑focused legal support on contracts, business operations, regulatory compliance, governance initiatives, transactions and strategic projects. The role offers variety and the opportunity to build a well‑rounded in‑house legal skillset.
Key Responsibilities
* Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a range of commercial agreements.
* Providing timely legal advice to internal stakeholders on day‑to‑day operational, contractual, compliance, risk and governance matters.
* Assisting with governance, risk and compliance activities, including policy drafting and reviews, regulatory change management, board reporting, regulatory reporting and records management.
* Contributing to legal support across specialist areas, which include financial services, funds management, property, construction and leasing, intellectual property and employment.
* Assisting with continuous improvement of legal templates, workflows, policies and processes to support efficient delivery of legal services across the business.
* Coordinating external counsel and managing the provision of legal services to the firm.
Qualifications
* The successful candidate will possess 2-4 years of experience and hold an unsupervised practising certificate.
* Experience in commercial law and corporate advisory is required.
* Experience or a demonstrated interest in other areas of law, such as regulatory compliance, financial services, funds management, property and employment.
* Strong legal drafting, research and analytical skills.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced and evolving environment.
* A proactive attitude, willingness to learn and enthusiasm to be hands‑on in the role.
