We are now seeking an experienced and motivated Workshop Controller to lead our Mercedes-Benz Brighton workshop to oversee the efficient throughput and job flow between our service advisors and technicians. This leadership role is crucial in ensuring that the workday jobs are allocated and organised seamlessly.

Job Description

* Coordinate daily workshop activities and assign repair orders to service technicians using our Dealer Management System.
* Oversee the daily operations of the workshop, managing a team of over 30 technicians and apprentices.
* Manage the workshop team to maximise productivity, efficiency, and profitability.
* Maintain an on-time delivery rate to enhance customer satisfaction.
* Identify technician strengths and weaknesses to allocate work effectively while creating opportunities to develop the team's skills.
* Work closely with Service Advisors to communicate vehicle progress and any additional work needed to customers.
* Monitor and improve job throughput to enhance overall efficiency and productivity.
* Foster a supportive environment focused on customer satisfaction and team collaboration.
* Collaborate with the Workshop Manager to implement best practices and streamline processes.
* Maintain high standards of service quality and ensure compliance with Mercedes‐Benz protocols.
* Analyse workflow and identify areas for improvement, ensuring that all operations align with dealership efficiency standards.

Desired Skills and Experience

* Previous dealership experience as a Workshop Controller or Workshop Manager.
* Utilise dealership training and experience, particularly within Mercedes‐Benz or European brands, to drive efficiencies in the workshop.
* Ability to maintain workshop productivity and efficiency levels.
* Strong organisation and leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor, including apprentices.
* Be reliable, self‐motivated, and have a great work ethic.
* Demonstrate a high degree of teamwork with the ability to work within a dynamic workshop environment.
* Hold a current Australian driver's license.
