Compensation

Potential total package value up to $673,200 (dependent on level of experience and participation).

Indicative Base Salary Package includes:

* Base salary $204,936 to $274,696 (pa)
* Superannuation (12.5%)
* Private Practice Allowance (Scheme A)
* Equipment funding
* On-call allowance
* Professional development allowances (MEE)
* Mobile phone allowance
* Generous leave provisions, including up to four weeks training/education leave and up to five weeks annual leave per annum (Pro Rata Part Time) plus leave loading
* Note: Starting base salary will be negotiated within this classification for the successful candidate, depending on experience and expertise.

Additional Incentives

Attraction and Retention Incentive's (ARIn) available for this position – Subject to meeting eligibility criteria – (pro‐ra part time)

* Core Group Anaesthetic ARIn $50,000 plus superannuation pa (pro‐ra for part time)
* Subject to review every two years
* Extra surgery scheme ARIn (optional) Up to $100,000 plus superannuation pa (pro‐ra for part time)
* Subject to review every two years
* Subject to participation requirements
* Rostered extra surgery scheme work $62,560 plus superannuation pa (pro‐ra for part time)
* Subject to participation requirements

About the Role

Canberra Health Services (CHS) is focused on the delivery of high quality, effective, person‐centred care. The Department of Anaesthesia facilitates over 24,000 anaesthetic elective and emergency procedures each year, including cardiac, neurosurgery and neonatal surgery, with the exception of solid organ transplant. The position supports the anaesthesia roster on weekends, public holidays, rostered after‐hours work and additional emergency lists. Part‐time hours and the number of anaesthetic sessions will be considered and can be negotiated upon offer.

Comprehensive research links exist with the Australian National University, the University of Canberra and the Australian Catholic University. The hospital offers postgraduate teaching programs and research opportunities. The preferred candidate may be considered for a conjoint position in ANU at an academic level commensurate with their qualifications and experience; no remuneration is attached to the university position.

Responsibilities & Duties

The successful candidate will:

* Operate within the Public Sector Management Act (1994), the ACT Public Service Code of Conduct and the professional requirements specified by the applicant's Specialist College.
* Provide anaesthetic services across the department and support teaching and research activities.
* Maintain specialist registration and meet credentialing requirements.
* Comply with all applicable health and safety policies.

Qualifications & Requirements

* Hold Specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
* Meet credentialing requirements and receive an endorsed scope of clinical practice from the Medical Dental Appointments Advisory Committee (MDAAC)
* Undergo a pre‐employment National Police Check
* Comply with Canberra Health Services Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination policy
