Role Summary

As an Applications Specialist, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-level technical support, driving cutting‑edge product development, and ensuring customer‑centric solutions that consistently exceed expectations.


Key Responsibilities

* Be the technical bridge between customers and engineering, translating challenges into actionable solutions.
* Support product innovation, working with Digital R&D to advance next‑gen digital products and reverse engineering initiatives.
* Ensure safety and compliance, aligning designs with legal requirements and "Safety in Design" principles.
* Validate digital products, conducting trials and performance evaluations in close collaboration with the sales team.
* Deliver insights, investigating market trends, customer pain points, and technical growth opportunities.


Key Technical Criteria

* Strong technical acumen and Mechanical/Electrical trade qualifications.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering documents such as drawings, specifications and CAD models.
* Customer‑first approach, ensuring technical support and solutions align with market needs.
* Collaboration mindset, working closely with the Engineering Team Lead and Product Manager to bring innovations to life.
* Analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to review and refine product designs for optimal performance.
* Attention to detail, ensuring high‑quality execution of engineering activities, from validation to product documentation.


Qualifications

* Qualifications in Mechatronics or Electrical engineering will be considered, but are not mandatory; candidates who demonstrate relevant experience and a formal trade qualification are also welcome.
* Mining experience with excavators and haul trucks in a mining environment is essential.


Location and Travel

* This role can be based in Brisbane or Newcastle.
* Requires approximately one week of travel per month, primarily across Australia's East Coast.
