About the Opportunity

To help us achieve this we are looking for a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to work as part of the Water & Sewer Process team with the Community Utilities Division. This person must be a team player, a strong communicator and an analytical thinker. We are looking for a team member that have a keen eye for detail, an enthusiastic approach to work and an understanding of systems and processes.
On a typical day a Wastewater Treatment Operator will :
* Provide control, operation, monitoring, testing and maintenance of all facets of Council's Wastewater and Recycled Water Treatment Plants
* Ensuring the treatment plant complies EPA licence requirements, at all times.
* Conduct sample collection and perform laboratory testing that complies with NSW Regulatory requirements
* Operate, maintain & adjust chemical dosing & pumping systems
* Operate and maintain dewatering plant
To be successful in this role, you should have relevant experience in the wastewater or construction industry. A relevant trade qualification or a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators Certificate or Certificate III in Water Industry Operations (or willing to obtain) would also be desirable. Recent wastewater industry experience would be highly regarded. You will also display a working knowledge of obligations under the Work Health and Safety act, hold a NSW HR Drivers' Licence, Construction Induction Certificate (NSW White Card) and be available for the out of hours on call roster.
Remuneration and Benefits
Employment type : Permanent, full-time role (38 hours per week with 9-day fortnight)
Salary (exclusive of super) : Starting salary of $1,275.43 per week with the opportunity for competency-based progression up to $ per week.
Allowances : Adverse Working Level 1 / On-call / Sewer choke
