Role Purpose
The Senior Tax Manager is responsible for supporting our general insurance clients, including reinsurers, insurers, underwriting agencies, and Lloyd's coverholders, with the fulfilment of both their direct and indirect tax obligations. The role supports the accurate, efficient, and compliant delivery of tax obligations and reporting, along with the associated compliance requirements. This role reports directly to the Head of Finance and Account Operations.
Responsibilities
* Manage income tax requirements for a variety of clients including underwriting agencies, reinsurers, and insurers.
* Liaison between the clients and their nominated tax agent.
* Assist in the tax compliance requirements for clients.
* Manage new client requirements from an ATO and States and Territory Revenue Office – Tax File Numbers and Stamp Duty registration.
* Quarterly or as required tax provisions for incorporation into financial accounts.
* Act as the BAS agent for clients, including preparation and lodgement of activity statements.
* Providing guidance from a BAS and GST perspective to clients.
* Overall annual management of compliance obligations (return lodgements, payments).
* Indirect Taxes (stamp duty, fire service levy) – assisting clients in the preparation and lodgement of indirect tax returns.
* Provide guidance on indirect tax matters.
* Contribution to quarterly regulatory update to clients.
* Administration of ABN applications and updating ABN information on behalf of clients.
* Lodging ASIC compliance matters through the Littlewoods Registered Agent Portal.
* Various ad-hoc support as required by clients.
* Assist in the payment entry and approval process across a variety of clients and activity.
* Support management as required.
Experience / Qualifications
* 5 years experience in a similar role – in particular Income Tax and Indirect Tax Compliance.
