About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Senior Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with NDIS participants to deliver high-quality, person-centred support that promotes choice, control, and inclusion. You will assist participants to build connections with their community, develop skills, and access the supports they need to reach their goals. You will also work within a team to plan and support the rostering of service coverage within the office environment
Key Responsibilities
* Respect and uphold participant rights including self-determination, privacy, and freedom of expression.
* Deliver safe and competent support aligned with individual NDIS support plans.
* Promote participant independence and social inclusion through meaningful community engagement.
* Assist participants to identify and engage in activities that align with their NDIS goals.
* Advocate with and on behalf of participants when required, including access to external advocacy services.
* Work independently in the community with indirect supervision and exercise discretion and initiative.
* Establish new support services and review existing ones in collaboration with the Coordination team.
* Introduce and support other Support Workers, providing coaching and mentoring to improve service quality.
* Ensure accurate and timely documentation of participant services and communication.
* Maintain strong professional relationships with participants, carers, and other service providers.
* Manage service coverage and staffing changes to meet participant needs and preferences.
* Attend staff meetings, ongoing training, and contribute to a positive team environment.
* Support general administrative duties as required.
About You
You are a proactive, empathetic, and organised professional who is passionate about empowering people with disability. You bring strong interpersonal skills, an understanding of the NDIS, and a commitment to delivering high-quality support that centres on participant goals and wellbeing.
Essential Criteria
* Experience in disability support, community services, or a related field.
* Strong understanding of the NDIS framework, Code of Conduct, and Practice Standards.
* Excellent communication, record-keeping, and time management skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
* Proficiency in using client management systems and Microsoft Office.
* Current Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
* Valid Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, and relevant clearances.
Desirable
* Certificate III in Disability, Community Services, Social Work, or related areas.
* Previous experience in mentoring or coaching support staff.
