Position Overview
The Medical Receptionist plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic by providing essential administrative support and acting as the first point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractors. This position demands a high level of customer service and attention to detail, particularly in the management of client information within our Patient Information Recall System (MMEx).
In this role, you will engage with clients, manage incoming communications, and maintain accurate records, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our health services.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver exceptional reception services and maintain a welcoming environment for clients and visitors.
* Handle phone inquiries, assist with appointment scheduling, and accurately document messages.
* Ensure the accurate entry and maintenance of client data in MMEx.
* Assist in the preparation and processing of Medicare claims for clients.
* Coordinate patient flow and liaise with health service providers to ensure quality care.
* Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the reception and waiting areas.
* Participate in staff meetings and professional development activities.
* Adhere to safety procedures and contribute to a safe work environment.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail. A commitment to the principles of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHS) and cultural safety is essential.
* Proven communication skills, both verbal and written.
* High level of integrity regarding patient confidentiality and organizational policies.
* Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and the public.
* Current National Police Clearance, First Aid Certificate (Basic Life Support), and Working with Children's Check.
Desirable qualifications include a current "C" Class driver's license and previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role. Covid-19 vaccination is also preferred.
Salary and Benefits
The base salary for this position is $67,950 per annum pro rata. DAHS offers a supportive environment that encourages continuous professional development and opportunities to engage with the community.
