About the role
As an HSE Business Partner you’ll take a hands‑on approach to coaching and supporting safety performance, leadership behaviours and wellbeing across your region. With a strong understanding of WHS legislation, systems and culture, you’ll guide leaders in making safety part of how work gets done.
In this role, you will
* Support and guide incident investigations with a root‑cause and prevention focus, applying structured thinking to reduce future risk.
* Manage safety systems and documentation, ensuring compliance, audit‑readiness and practical usability at site level.
* Lead and deliver wellbeing initiatives, WHS committee support and training plans that are aligned to site priorities and budgets.
* Coordinate injury management and Workers Compensation processes, including return‑to‑work planning, ensuring timely and supportive outcomes.
* Use safety performance data and trend analysis to inform site strategies and advise leaders on proactive risk controls.
* Build partnerships across teams using a One Team approach to drive continuous improvement, operational ownership and a positive safety culture.
Key Criteria
* Qualifications in Safety, Engineering or a related field (e.g., Diploma, Graduate Certificate or Degree), supported by relevant industry experience.
* Minimum 5+ years of experience in a safety leadership role, ideally within manufacturing or heavy industry.
* Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management and compliance.
* Experience in incident investigation and injury management, including return‑to‑work coordination.
* Proven ability to implement safety and wellbeing programs at site level.
Location
This role is based at our Wodonga site and involves supporting East Coast sites with occasional travel.
