Synchronous Building Automation is a leader in building automation solutions, specialising in advanced systems that enhance the efficiency and functionality of commercial and industrial facilities. We are seeking a skilled and motivated BMS Project Engineer to join our National Engineering team, supporting the successful delivery of Building Management System projects across commercial and industrial environments.
Reporting to the BMS Engineering Manager, this hands‐on role is responsible for BMS programming, graphics development, commissioning support, technical documentation, and project delivery support. The role is well suited to someone with strong experience in Tridium Niagara N4/AX, Distech Controls GFX applications and Schnedier EcoStruxure, and provides a strong pathway into senior engineering and project leadership roles.
Key Responsibilities BMS Programming and Project Delivery
Develop, program, and configure BMS applications using Tridium Niagara N4/AX, Distech Controls GFX and Schnedier EcoStruxure applications.
Graphics and System Visualisation
Complete graphics development, dashboards, alarm management, trend logs, and user interface visualisation.
Commissioning Support
Support commissioning activities, including FAT, SAT, practical completion, testing, fault finding, and system optimisation.
Technical Support and Troubleshooting
Diagnose and resolve BMS system faults across software, controllers, networks, and field devices.
Documentation and Standards
Prepare and maintain technical documentation including control drawings, commissioning sheets, I/O schedules, cause and effect matrices, and handover documentation.
Project Collaboration
Work closely with project managers, electricians, service technicians, subcontractors, and clients to support successful project delivery.
Continuous Improvement
Contribute to improvements across project delivery, engineering standards, technical processes, and system performance.
Required Qualifications and Experience
* Proven experience within the BMS or building automation industry.
* Strong hands‐on experience with Tridium Niagara N4/AX.
* Experience programming Distech Controls controllers using GFX applications.
* Strong understanding of HVAC controls, BMS architecture, and integrated building systems.
* Ability to read and interpret control drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
* Experience supporting commissioning and project delivery across commercial or industrial environments.
* Strong analytical, fault‐finding, and problem‐solving skills.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Current driver's licence.
Desirable Experience
* Trade qualification in Electrical, HVAC, Mechatronics, or Engineering.
* Exposure to EMS, EPMS, OT Networks, and smart building technologies.
* Experience across data centres, healthcare, or large commercial buildings.
* White Card and relevant site access licences.
* Exposure to secure networking solutions, including Fortinet systems.
