A long-term contract within the Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG), ideal for an Engineer interested in the development and advancement of energy recovery technologies to support the Australian Navy.
* Requires experience with energy efficiency and recovery research, and Australian Citizenship for security clearance reasons.
* Salary guide: $46 per hour.
You will be developing and advancing energy recovery technologies and conducting research and development of novel energy efficiency and recovery technologies. This is a hands-on research position working in a small team environment. Major tasks include:
* Operation and management of DST Group plant and control room facilities, including compressor and air-heater systems, for technology assessment and performance evaluations;
* Development of energy efficiency and energy recovery numerical models for research, system-level evaluation, and maritime platform evaluation;
* Research and evaluation of maritime mechanical systems, including designing and assembling system test apparatus, installing instrumentation and wiring, and data acquisition;
* Preparation of reports as required.
Your client, DSTG, is the government's Defence R&D arm. They are engaged in various maritime platform energy efficiency and energy recovery projects. You will need:
* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field;
* Experience with energy efficiency/energy harvesting technology, including construction and instrumentation of laboratory apparatus;
* Laboratory experience in technology testing, evaluation, and performance characterization;
* MUST be an Australian Citizen.
