* Evandale - Tuesdays & Thursdays 10:00am – 12:00pm
* Scottsdale - Monday - Friday 12:00pm – 1:30pm

The program
Red Cross Transport service is more than just a commuter service - it is also an opportunity for genuine social connection
Designed for older Australians and people experiencing transport disadvantage, this door-to-door service helps clients attend non-urgent medical appointments, social outings (like coffee with friends or community events), or essential errands such as grocery shopping. Clients are welcome to bring a carer or registered friend along for the ride. By combining reliable logistics with a friendly chat, this service supports physical, social, and emotional well-being and helps people remain independent in their own homes whilst still being connected to the community.
The opportunity We are seeking warm, dependable volunteers who can relate to and empathise with a diverse range of people, including those from different cultural backgrounds and life experiences.
Key Requirements And Your Commitment
* Join a nationwide team delivering social inclusion program within aged and community care.
* Operate our vehicles to transport one or multiple clients per trip, locally and regionally, on weekdays
* Provide a safe, courteous, and respectful transport experience
* Ability to assist with mobility aids and safely help clients board and disembark (lifting up to 15 kg)
* Engage in conversation and activities that are appropriate to the client or group.
* Respect the privacy, rights, and dignity of clients and maintain confidentiality with respect to information obtained during the delivery of service.
* Utilise appropriate digital systems and adhere to established work practices relevant to the program.
* Record timely and appropriate documentation of your interactions with clients.
* Maintain clear professional relationships and respect clear boundaries to safeguard the well-being of the client and yourself.
* Participate in mandatory learning and development to keep your knowledge, skills, and practices up-to-date in the aged and community care sector.
* Commit to upholding the principles outlined in the Aged Care Code of Conduct and any subsequent updates.
* Demonstrate cultural sensitivity by respecting diverse backgrounds and ensuring that all interactions are inclusive and free from discrimination

You'll be part of the Red Cross Aged & Community Care team that works to support older and vulnerable people across Australia through a range of volunteer-based programs.
Application requirements:
* All volunteers will be required toundertakea National Police Check, which will be organised through Red Cross.
* A current full Australian driver's licence and an excellent driving record.
* Statutory Declaration to be completed if you have been a citizen or permanent resident of a country other than Australia after turning 16 years of age.
