Long-Term Housekeeper / Nanny – Predominantly Housekeeping & Cooking Role
We are a busy family with three children aged 10–12 years, looking for a reliable, organised and proactive housekeeper/nanny to join our household long term.
This role is predominantly focused on housekeeping, home organisation, laundry and cooking, with some support for the children before and after school. We are looking for someone who enjoys helping a busy home run smoothly and takes pride in keeping things clean, organised and well managed.
Hours
4 days per week (approx 33hrs):
* Monday: 7:00am – 4:00pm
* Tuesday: 6:30am – 4:00pm
* Wednesday: 7:00am – 4:00pm
* Thursday: 7:00am – 4:00pm
Pay
$40-$50 per hour depending on the candidate's experience
Key Responsibilities
* Morning routine and child support
o Preparing a nutritious & potentially cooked breakfast for the children
o Helping ensure the children are ready and out the door on time for school, ensuring they have everything they need for the day, and any prescribed chores have been done.
o Preparing recess/lunchbox items when required
o Occasionally driving children to the local school for early band practice, during bad weather, or other needs
o Driving a child to after-school activities if required before 4:00pm
* Housekeeping and household organisation
o Keeping the kitchen clean, tidy and organised
o Emptying and stacking the dishwasher
o Cleaning and organising kitchen appliances, including occasional deep clean of oven, & bbq.
o General household tidying
o Changing beds and managing all linen
o Laundry, folding, ironing and putting clothes away
o Organising cupboards, wardrobes and linen storage
o Pantry, fridge and freezer cleaning and organisation
o Tidying and organising art, toy and children's cupboards
o Assisting with sorting, selling, donating or recycling children's clothes and household items
* Cooking and food preparation
o Preparing family dinners
o Batch cooking meals such as bolognese, slow-cooked dishes and other family-friendly meals
o Helping introduce new meals and variety into our current routine
o Preparing vegetables and ingredients ahead of time
o Managing food shopping lists
o Preparing afternoon tea for the children, including fruit chopping and baking such as pizza scrolls, carrot cake, banana cake and similar
About You
* Warm, trustworthy and reliable
* Highly organised and proactive
* Experienced in housekeeping and supporting a busy family household
* Confident with cooking and meal preparation
* Comfortable around older children
* Able to take initiative and see what needs doing
* Detail-oriented and happy to help bring order to busy household spaces
* A confident and safe driver
Requirements
* Previous housekeeping, nannying or household management experience
* Robust cooking and food preparation skills
* Current driver's licence and confidence driving children – essential
* Excellent references
* Working With Children Check and police check preferred
* Comfortable with dogs (we have one small, gentle pooch), and some pet management
