Purpose
The Communications & Events Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping and amplifying Le Cordon Bleu Australia's public image and brand presence. This position combines strategic leadership with hands‐on execution across communications, public relations, and event management. By crafting compelling narratives and delivering exceptional experiences, the Communications & Events Manager enhances stakeholder engagement, strengthens media relationships, and ensures that every event and communication reflects the prestige and excellence of Le Cordon Bleu.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Communications
* Lead content strategy across all channels, ensuring alignment with brand tone, audience needs, and campaign objectives.
* Write and edit high-quality content for diverse formats including media releases, feature articles, social media posts, newsletters, and website copy.
* Develop storytelling frameworks that elevate brand narratives and highlight student, alumni, and institutional achievements.
* Maintain editorial calendars and ensure timely delivery of content across platforms.
* Ensure content is optimised for digital platforms, including SEO best practices and accessibility standards.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to source stories and translate complex ideas into engaging, audience-friendly content.
* Review and refine content produced by team members or external contributors to maintain quality and consistency.
* Create engaging content across social media, website, EDMs, and PR articles.
* Develop and distribute compelling media releases and stories to gain earned media.
* Maintain strong relationships with media, influencers, and content creators.
* Respond to reactive media enquiries and proactively seek media opportunities.
* Ensure consistent tone of voice and brand representation across all communications.
* Coordinate communication activities and reporting.
* Support the development of executive visibility through strategic content and public engagement.
* Use AI tools and analytics to monitor media sentiment, track campaign performance, and inform strategy.
* Uphold ethical standards and ensure communications reflect diversity, equity, and inclusion values.
* Maintain a crisis communication plan and be prepared to manage reputational risks.
* Act as a company ambassador, marketing representative, and public relations spokesperson to contribute to the global recognition of Le Cordon Bleu and the trademark "Le Cordon Bleu".
Events Management
* Oversee planning and execution of all events and graduations.
* Ensure events are conceptualised and delivered to the highest standard.
* Support the Events Officer in venue booking, catering, AV, invitations, and logistics.
* Represent Le Cordon Bleu at conferences, exhibitions, and festivals.
* Ensure events align with brand strategy and provide memorable experiences for students and alumni.
* Balance earned and paid media strategies to maximise event visibility and impact.
Leadership & Management
* Lead and manage the Communications & Events, including direct supervision of the Events Officer.
* Develop and implement departmental strategies aligned with marketing goals.
* Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
* Oversee departmental budget and reporting.
Position Requirements
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong emphasis on content creation and storytelling.
* Highly organised and proactive, with the ability to take initiative and lead projects from concept to completion.

Knowledge & Experience
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in communications, PR, and/or events management.
* Experience managing teams or direct reports.
* Demonstrated expertise in content writing across digital and traditional platforms.
* Experience working with media, influencers, and content creators.
* Relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications, Events, or similar.
