About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a Principal Engineer or Associate Director who is ready to step into a broader team leadership and General Manager position. It is ideally suited to someone looking to transition from a senior technical or associate leadership role into full operational, commercial, and strategic responsibility within a growing engineering services environment.
A strong foundation in urban development and subdivision engineering is essential, as this capability sits at the core of the business and this leadership function.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage engineering and technical teams delivering urban development and subdivision projects
* Oversee end-to-end project delivery, ensuring time, cost, quality, and safety targets are met
* Drive commercial performance including budgeting, forecasting, WIP management, and financial reporting
* Approve and support fee proposals, contract negotiation, and client engagement strategies
* Provide technical leadership across planning, design coordination, and project execution
* Ensure effective resource planning and utilisation across project teams
* Monitor project schedules and proactively manage delivery risks and scope changes
* Foster strong relationships with councils, developers, contractors, and key clients
* Lead business development activities and support growth of the urban development portfolio
* Mentor and develop senior and emerging leaders within the business
* Promote innovation, continuous improvement, and best practice delivery standards
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Well established experience in urban development / land development engineeringwithin SEQ (essential)
* Background in Civil Engineering, surveying, or town planningwith development environments
* Proven leadership experiencein a management role (10+ years preferred)
* Strong commercial acumen with experience managing project financial and business performance
* Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive performance, while maintaining culture
* Strong client relationship management and business development capability
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
* Ability to operate in a delivery focused consulting environment
* Professional memberships highly regarded
