A.B. Paterson College is seeking a dynamic and passionate Visual Arts Teacher to join our thriving College community. This is a full-time, fixed-term position commencing in Term 3 2026 until the end of Term 3 2027.
We are looking for an educator who is committed to delivering engaging, curriculum-aligned Visual Arts programs that foster creativity, critical thinking and artistic skill. The ability to teach across multiple year levels is essential, with experience teaching senior years (11 and 12) highly desirable. Experience in Textiles would also be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned Visual Arts lessons that foster creativity, critical thinking, and technical skill across relevant year levels.
* Create a positive and inclusive studio environment that promotes respect, artistic exploration, and confidence, using proactive behaviour strategies.
* Assess and monitor student progress through a range of practical and theoretical tasks, providing constructive feedback to support artistic development.
* Contribute to the College's pastoral care and co-curricular programs, including exhibitions and showcases, supporting students' holistic growth.
* Collaborate with colleagues to share resources, moderate student work, and contribute to a culture of innovation and professional excellence.
What We're Looking For
* Demonstrated experience teaching Visual Arts, with the ability to teach senior years (11 & 12) highly regarded
* Experience or capability in Textiles is desirable
* A strong commitment to student wellbeing and academic excellence
* A collaborative team member who contributes positively to College life
* A willingness to innovate and continuously improve teaching practice, particularly in creative disciplines
* Sound knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and QCAA Visual Arts syllabus
* Proficiency in digital tools and technologies relevant to Visual Arts education
* Current CPR and First Aid training, or willingness to obtain
* Current Teacher Registration is a requirement of this position
