Boilermaker / Fabricator
Karratha workshop position. 5:2 roster, 11 hour days.
Responsibilities
* Fabrication, repair and modification of rail maintenance attachments and equipment
* Welding and repairs on steel and aluminium components
* Reading and interpreting technical drawings, route sheets and sketches
* Marking out, preparing and assembling fabricated components
* Plasma cutting and oxy/acetylene work
* Operating hand tools and workshop machinery safely and effectively
* Carrying out welding repairs and general fabrication activities
* Assisting with custom fabrication and design solutions when required
* Operating forklifts and cranes where required
* Maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and housekeeping standards
Skills and Experience
Required
* Boilermaker Trade Certificate
* Strong fabrication and welding experience
* Experience welding steel and aluminium
* Proficiency in plasma cutting and oxy/acetylene work
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and workshop documentation
* Strong problem‐solving skills and attention to detail
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
Desirable
* Current Forklift Ticket
* Current Dogman's Ticket
* Experience repairing rail maintenance equipment or attachments
