The Role

Are you passionate about creating better outcomes for young people and their families? Well this may be the chance for you! An exciting opening has arisen to join a well-established, cohesive and supportive team at OzChild. You would be joining a small and dedicated team of therapists providing intensive in-home engagement with a small caseload of no more than 5 families. You will be working flexibly to deliver outreach within the South East Melbourne region across the week and will be provided a company vehicle or car allowance.

The program works with caregivers and is multi-systemic, therefore functions across systems to gather a deeper understanding of a young person’s ecology, including family, peers, school or work, activities or interests, and support services. This will inform your understanding of any challenges or opportunities existing within the young person’s ecology and create shared goals and desired outcomes. Full training is provided as well as ongoing supervision and support.

What is required in the role:

- Full training in Multisystemic Therapy provided.
- Manage a case load of 5 families.
- Engage with cases for a period of 3-5 months, with 2-3 weekly sessions.
- Develop and implement evidenced-based behavioural interventions across the broader ecology (individual, peers, school, vocational, community, home) of a young person who is involved in the justice system.
- Conduct assessments including review of referral information, identifying and engaging key participants, identifying systemic strengths and weaknesses, and utilising program specific assessments.
- Engage in weekly group supervision and work to maintain model fidelity through use of the MST Analytical process.
- Participate in a rostered on-call support. This service is phone-only and not expected to physically attend after hour issues.
- Work within multidisciplinary care teams including (but not exclusively) members from the department of justice, community cultural advisors, NDIS and disability specialists, outreach social support services, alcohol and drug workers and allied-health workers.

Who we are looking for:

Essential

- Minimum level of bachelor's degree in psychology, Social Work or Counselling.
- Proven ability to plan and deliver evidence-based interventions with individuals or families or systems.
- Knowledge and understanding of cultural sensitivities and demonstrated ability to engage and effectively work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and CALD communities.
- Experience conducting risk assessments and completing safety planning.
- Demonstrated ability to engage key stakeholders and work systemically, including as clinical lead.
- Current driver’s license.

- Salary SCHADS 6.1 $ 110, 102.72 plus super & car allowance $ 15,000 plus oncall allowance $ 5000
- Salary packaging $ 15,900 plus the ability to salary package also meals & entertainment of $ 2650.00
