Position Classification: Occupational Therapist Level 1-2, Social Work Level 1-2, Registered Nurse, Psychologist

Remuneration: Dependant on Classification

Occupational Therapist Level 1-2: $37.03 – $52.83 per hour

Social Work Level 1-2: $37.03 – $52.83 per hour

Registered Nurse: $ $51.08 per hour

Psychologist:$ $57.10 per hour

Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact in suicide prevention? Join our dynamic Towards Zero Suicides Service, a district-wide initiative committed to reducing suicide rates through compassionate, evidence-based care.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work across weekend and evening shifts (typically 11:30am – 8:00pm, Friday to Monday) with penalty rates applicable. You'll be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and strengths-based support to individuals and communities.

What You'll be Doing

The Mental Health Professional is responsible for providing evidence-based, strengths focused, recovery orientated assessment and treatment within a multi-disciplinary team and coordinating consumers' recovery plans. The role is also responsible for non-clinical tasks including participation in quality improvement activities, clinical supervision and participation in administrative responsibilities as required.

Where You'll Be Working

SWSLHD Community Mental Health Services provide comprehensive, community-based mental health care across South Western Sydney.

These services cater to different age groups, including children, adolescents, adults, and older persons, ensuring specialised care throughout various life stages. The multidisciplinary teams offer a range of supports, including mental health assessments, crisis intervention, care coordination, and therapy. They work closely with inpatient services, GPs, and other community organisations to provide holistic care.

* Relevant qualifications as a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Psychologist currently registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), or qualified Social Worker eligible for registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), or CSU Graduates: Bachelor of Health Science (Mental Health).
* Please provide a detailed description of your interest and motivation in applying for this role highlighting your relevant skills & experience in providing assessment and treatment for consumers of the mental health service.
* Using an example, describe a time where you have had to work as part of a team to solve a problem. Outline the communication skills used and how you ensured the problem would not occur again.
* Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
