Lead Laboratory Technician Role
We are seeking a skilled laboratory technician to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a hands-on environment and wants to contribute to the success of our organization.
The successful candidate will have strong practical experience working in technical support roles, particularly in anatomical and physiological areas. They should be methodical, safety-conscious, and proactive, with great attention to detail and a commitment to best practice in laboratory operations.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Preparing and managing anatomical and other biomedical specimens, lab equipment, and consumables.
* Setting up laboratories and student-facing clinics for scheduled classes.
* Ensuring laboratory safety and cleanliness, and compliance with WHS, biosecurity, and ethical standards.
* Assisting with equipment maintenance, procurement, and resource coordination.
Requirements:
* A relevant degree and demonstrated experience in a technical or laboratory setting, particularly in anatomical and physiological areas.
* Current or future vaccination for Q Fever and tetanus and current Senior First Aid and Resuscitation certificates.
* Practical skills in laboratory procedures and familiarity with preparation of anatomical specimens and other biomedical learning resources.
* A demonstrated understanding of WHS and ethical standards in technical or teaching environments.
* Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
