What's the role Are you a seasoned Ad Tech professional with a passion for innovation and a knack for driving commercial success?
News Corp Australia is seeking a dynamic and technically astute Video and Programmatic Ad Tech Director to join our team in Surry Hills, Sydney.
This is a pivotal individual contributor role, reporting directly to the Head of Ad Tech, where you will shape the strategy and lead the delivery of our video and programmatic ad technology stack.
About The Role As our Video and Programmatic Ad Tech Director, you will be at the forefront of optimising our ad technology to maximise profitable revenue, ensure stable delivery, and cultivate an exceptional advertiser experience across our video and programmatic channels.
You will own the technical excellence and implementation of all related technologies, driving strategic decisions, roadmap development, and innovative solutions.
Your Responsibilities Will Include Defining and executing the Ad Tech strategy for video and programmatic technologies, aligning with broader business goals.
Optimising our video, programmatic, and CTV technology stacks, including GAM, Prebid (client/server), SSP, and demand partner implementations.
Owning the roadmap for our ad tech stack, encompassing SSAI/SSU, verification, and measurement.
Leading end-to-end migrations and upgrades, ensuring robust discovery, experimentation, change control, and rollback plans.
Collaborating on privacy-safe identity and publisher signal strategies across web app and CTV.
Running structured test-and-learn programs to drive continuous improvement in bidding, floors, formats, and vendor performance.
Managing vendor relationships, negotiating commercials, and ensuring accountability against SLAs and roadmaps.
Translating complex ad tech concepts into clear, compelling commercial narratives for diverse stakeholders.
Leading incident and risk management, fostering a culture of proactive maintenance and continuous improvement.
Who are you?
A minimum of 5 years; hands-on experience in programmatic and video monetisation, gained within a publisher, SSP, DSP, or a comparable environment.
Deep familiarity with GAM, header bidding, Prebid (client/server), SSAI/SSU, identity frameworks, verification, and audience measurement.
Demonstrated ability to define and own a monetisation roadmap that has delivered measurable commercial gains.
Proficiency in building dashboards, interrogating anomalies, and making evidence-based decisions.
Strong stakeholder leadership skills, capable of engaging effectively across Product, Sales, Data, Engineering, and Legal teams, and translating complex technical information for non-technical audiences.
A track record of running structured test-and-learn programs and a desire to explore and implement innovative technologies.
Desirable Experience with launching innovative and new technologies.
Knowledge of server-side bidding and CTV supply.
Experience in Prebid development or frontend development.
