Job Description
In this key role, you will oversee a team of Mechanical personnel, estimate project staffing requirements, and schedule and assign work. You will prepare detailed estimates and work plans and review and approve mechanical investigations and studies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leading and participating in the day-to-day mechanical engineering activity on medium to large sized complex projects that require very major mechanical engineering effort, or being assigned responsibility for multiple smaller projects within a global business unit utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).
* Supervising, coordinating, and reviewing the work of mechanical engineering personnel assigned, estimating staffing needs, and scheduling and assigning work accordingly.
* Providing technical input to meet procurement requirements.
* Preparing or overseeing the preparation of discipline estimates and work plans in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget, and managing implementation and performance accordingly.
* Maintaining contact with other disciplines to ensure the coordination of the work within the project(s) and compliance with Bechtel/client requirements.
* Reviewing and making recommendations on the mechanical aspects of bid evaluations and awards for approval by project engineering.
* Coordinating, when directed, with client representatives to obtain their approval of mechanical aspects of the work.
* Reviewing and approving key calculations, licensing evaluations, design documents, supplier drawings and data, material specifications, drawings, and change orders, for the project to which assigned.
* Ensuring that assigned mechanical personnel receive appropriate on-the-job training for their professional development.
