Hudson Marketing Pty Limited is an Australian owned manufacturer of Attapulgite (Fullers Earth) and Diatomaceous Earth products. As our operations grow, we are seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to support leadership at our Narngulu Processing Plant.
Position Overview
Based in Narngulu, WA, the Deputy Manager oversees daily plant operations to ensure safety, quality, cost, and production targets are met. This role supports the Operations Manager and acts as Site Manager when required, providing leadership across production, quality, safety, and maintenance coordination.
Key Responsibilities Production Operations
* Oversee crushing, drying, screening, and packaging activities
* Plan and deliver daily production schedules
* Monitor throughput, downtime, and plant performance
* Optimise labour, equipment, and material usage
* Lead start-up and shutdown activities
* Troubleshoot operational issues and drive continuous improvement
* Maintain accurate production reporting
Leadership & Supervision
* Supervise operators, technicians, and contractors
* Lead, coach, and develop production teams
* Support recruitment, onboarding, and training
* Promote a strong safety and accountability culture
* Act as Site Manager when required
Quality & Laboratory Coordination
* Review lab results and product quality trends
* Ensure compliance with product specifications
* Coordinate sampling and testing with laboratory staff
* Investigate non-conformances and implement corrective actions
* Maintain traceability and quality records
Safety & Compliance
* Enforce WHS procedures and risk controls
* Lead pre-starts, JHAs, SWMS, and hazard reporting
* Ensure compliance with environmental and operational standards
* Manage permit systems, isolations, and contractor safety
* Support incident investigations and corrective actions
* Coordinate safety training and inductions
Maintenance & Reliability
* Coordinate with maintenance to support plant reliability
* Monitor equipment condition and downtime trendsPrioritise maintenance requirementsSupport preventative maintenance programs
About You
* Experience in production, mining, or processing environments
* Strong leadership and team supervision capability
* Sound understanding of plant operations and equipment
* Strong problem-solving and communication skills
* Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
* Current driver's licence (HR licence desirable)
* Forklift experience advantageous
* Competent computer, numeracy, and reporting skills
* WHS qualification or certificate (desirable)
