Midwifery Sign-on Bonus: A lump sum sign-on bonus of up to $20,000* for 2nd year midwives and above moving from work in an NSW MM1 and MM2 location, or midwives moving from interstate. Commencement is required by 30 September 2025.

Cooma Maternity Unit experiences approximately 140-150 births a year, with 2 birthing rooms and 3 postnatal rooms. There is a part-time Clinical Midwifery Educator to support the team with ongoing education and professional development opportunities. What You\'ll Be Doing
Within the Framework of the Core Values of SNSW LHD, the Midwife will provide clinical care to women accessing the Continuity of Midwifery Care service. The Midwife will provide full-scope midwifery care in a collaborative multidisciplinary team, with practice knowledge to support women throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period. You will deliver evidence-based, woman-centred care in collaboration with individuals and the multidisciplinary health care team, and provide support and supervision for less experienced clinicians to achieve people-focused quality care.
Selection Criteria
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Midwife.
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge and problem-solving skills in midwifery care.
- Demonstrated clinical leadership skills and ability to influence others within a professional and ethical framework that reflects the values of the organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously within an overall team environment with commitment to ongoing professional development of self and others.
- Demonstrated commitment to clinical research, quality improvement and procedure development and implementation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation related to the position.
- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal and communication skills as well as computer literacy.
- Evidence of a current unrestricted drivers’ licence and the ability to drive/travel as required, including long-distance driving and overnight stays.
