Responsibilities
You will lead, support, and educate multi‐disciplinary teams consisting of Senior Medical Practitioners, Junior Medical Officers, nursing staff, administrative staff and support staff. You'll collaborate with organisations such as the Royal Flying Doctor Service, the Rural Clinical School of Western Australia, and the WACHS Command Centre to manage the unique cases presented and delivering exceptional emergency care to the community.
Opportunities for progression, including advancement to the role of Head of Department, are available for driven candidates who excel in this position.
Qualifications
Applicants should be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and be a Fellow of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM) or equivalent as an overseas‐trained specialist who has completed their training in either the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA (ABEM certified) or New Zealand.
Hospital & Region
The Kalgoorlie Health Campus is a recently revitalised 106‐bed general inpatient facility and the second largest regional public hospital in Western Australia. It services more than 50,000 residents of Kalgoorlie‐Boulder and surrounding rural and remote communities in the Goldfields region. The Emergency Department manages over 25,000 presentations each year, with approximately 25% of patients identifying as Aboriginal. The ED operates 24/7 with a rotating roster that includes day, evening and late shifts, along with on‐call coverage.
