1. We are seeking a skilled Anaesthetist to support our surgical and critical care services.

* The successful candidate will provide comprehensive anaesthetic services across four operating theatres, supporting a broad range of elective surgical procedures including:

o Orthopaedics – Hip and Knee replacement, general orthopaedic procedures
">
">
o General Surgery – Laparoscopic cholecystectomy, towel resections, hernia repairs, excision of skin lesions and gastroenterology cases
">
">
o Dental Surgery
">
">
o Urology procedures
">
">
o Obstetrics and Gynaecology – including support for labour epidurals
">
">
">
Armidale Rural Referral Hospital is a level 4 service providing anaesthesia for ASA 1 and 2 patients undergoing selected complex major surgical procedures. The successful candidate will also provide anaesthesia for ASA 3 to 5 patients undergoing common and intermediate and selected major surgical procedures.

As an Anaesthetist with our team, you will be responsible for:
">
">
o Providing emergency airway management, ventilation and acute pain services
">
">
o Participating in perioperative outpatient consultancy on a rotating roster with fellow Anaesthetists
">
">
o Contributing to perioperative assessments, patient optimisation, and procedural planning
">
">
o Working closely with Surgical and Emergency Department staff to ensure seamless patient care
">
">
o Supporting the development of junior medical staff through education and training
">
">
">
Key Requirements:
">
">
o A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA), and/or overseas trained specialist pathways
">
">
o Evidence of being a medical expert, demonstrated by recent and comprehensive experience in Anaesthesia
">
">
o Evidence of being a scholar, maintains medical professional development and has the ability to assist other staff, including trainees in the acquisition and development of knowledge
">
">
o Evidence of being a skilled communicator, including both oral and written skills, communicating with patients, students, other health professionals and the public
">
">
o Evidence of being a collaborator, including the ability to network and operate within an interdisciplinary framework and to work with other stakeholders in a variety of settings
">
">
o Evidence of being a manager, including ability to be flexible and cope with a changing health system, past leadership and management experience and previous safety and quality improvement activities
">
">
o Evidence of being a professional, including continued professional development, peer review and other forms of clinical governance

o Evidence of being an advocate, including contributions to improving individual and societal health
