NSW Health Pathology is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician to join our Anatomical Pathology team at Westmead Hospital on a temporary part-time basis until June 2027. This is a great opportunity to expand your pathology knowledge and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced diagnostic laboratory, working alongside highly skilled scientific and technical professionals.
Located within the ICPMR, our Anatomical Pathology unit is a large and busy diagnostic service supporting hospitals across Sydney and NSW. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care through collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. What you will be doing
Perform a range of laboratory investigations and tests (manual and automated) and technical tasks by applying established methods and procedures. Undertake other duties including preparation of materials and maintenance of equipment in line with laboratory protocols.

* Minimum qualification of Diploma in Laboratory Technology or equivalent from a recognized tertiary institution with relevant subjects
* Knowledge and experience in pathology services, including use of Laboratory Information Systems, Patient Systems, and Quality Systems

* Ability to work in a team and autonomously to deliver results
* Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
* Problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to investigate and resolve issues
