We are seeking a seasoned Critical Facilities Engineer to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for operating, managing, maintaining, and repairing critical and non-critical power systems, HVAC, BMS, plumbing, fire control & suppression, and all site services.
Critical Facilities Engineer
This fast-paced role is central to the overall functioning of the data center by focusing on maintaining and improving the facility's critical infrastructure. This includes all regularly scheduled maintenance and ad hoc repairs/troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensures timely completion of all maintenance protocols, plans, and activities, including daily, weekly, and monthly site checks.
* Manages specialist vendors for major works, planned repairs, and maintenance to electrical and special systems – particularly chillers, AHU, CRAH, CRAC, and all HVAC/mechanical systems and equipment.
* Performs minor modifications to mechanical, electrical, and special systems if necessary.
* Maintains a sufficient stock of spare parts for frequently used items or parts with long lead times, and updates the critical spares register.
* Monitors for and responds to BMS (Building Monitoring System) alarms in accordance with engineering policies and procedures, escalating to and working with Controls Engineering as required.
* Participates in an on-call roster to act as the first responder for sites' incidents, managing, resolving, and/or escalating critical issues outside regular working hours.
The ideal candidate will possess strong understanding and recent hands-on service work experience with chillers, AHU, CRAC, HVAC systems, along with a foundational knowledge of electrical and controls systems.
