About The Role

As a foundation Deputy Principal, you will contribute to establishing strong systems, evidence‐based practices and a positive school culture that supports excellence in teaching, learning and student engagement, you will work collaboratively with the Principal to lead high‐quality teaching and learning and establish safe, inclusive and supportive learning environments that improve outcomes for students with diverse learning needs.

The Successful Applicant Will Demonstrate
* Proven leadership experience in supporting students with diverse and complex learning, behavioural and medical needs
* Demonstrated expertise in establishing and leading Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL)
* Strong working knowledge and practical application of Multi‐Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), including behavioural support, family engagement and collaboration, and medical and allied health coordination
* A high level of understanding of the Australian Curriculum, with the ability to adapt, synthesise and align curriculum delivery to meet the needs of students
* Deep knowledge of evidence‐based pedagogies relevant to early years, including explicit instruction, alternative communication systems development and The Science of Reading
* Demonstrated expertise in transition‐to‐school practices, including collaboration with early childhood providers, families and external agencies
* Proven ability to lead the development of inclusive, safe and supportive learning environments that prioritise student wellbeing and achievement
* Strong capability in human resource management, including staff recruitment, induction, mentoring, performance development and wellbeing in a new school context
* Sound understanding of financial resource management, including budgeting, allocation of resources and accountability within a special school setting
* Demonstrated capacity to manage and plan for physical resources and infrastructure, including learning environments tailored to students with additional needs
* Highly developed collaborative leadership skills, with the ability to build strong partnerships with teachers, teacher aides, families, health professionals and system support services
* A strong commitment to inclusive education, equity and high expectations for all students
* Well‐developed communication, organisational and change management skills, with the proven ability to contribute to the successful establishment and growth of a new school
