Contributing to the support and development of a high performing corporate network services to maximize effective and efficient 24x7 business operations in support of profitable online and in-store sales.
Key Responsibilities:
* Designing, implementing, and maintaining corporate network services, components, and associated infrastructure
* Providing escalated technical support, troubleshooting and fault rectification of high-level technical issues related to networking equipment and services
* Monitoring the performance of the organisations telecommunications network providers in relation to established service level agreements and business needs
* Project based work to assist in simplifying, modernizing, and securing the network environment Cloud voice, public cloud, network segmentation and SD-WAN
* Testing, implementing, monitoring, and tuning networking software/hardware to ensure optimum systems performance and highlight potential issues
* Analysing network traffic data and capacity planning, providing recommendations on performance improvements
* Take responsibility for planning and execution of planned changes and small to medium projects in support of senior team members
* Maintaining technical documentation regarding network services solutions
* Contribute to a culture of identifying and executing IT industry best practices, owning mistakes, and striving to offer the best service in support of a profitable business
* Participate in the on-call roster in line with business support needs
Preferred Experience:
* 3+ years of experience in an enterprise operational IT environment
* 2+ years of experience specializing in the configuration and maintenance of corporate communication network services including routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, NAC, VoIP, and SD-WAN technologies, and all relevant protocols
* Experience with Cisco, Citrix, Meraki, and Palo Alto highly regarded
* Any experience in cybersecurity and cloud technologies is highly regarded
* Relevant vendor qualifications highly regarded
* Good general knowledge of technical concepts, configurations, and products
* Solid understanding of business needs and customer focus beyond the technical aspects.
Skills and Experience Required: Technologies:
* Access Network Design: GPON, XGSPON configuration Design & testing;
* EMS: RHEL, containerized applications deployment and troubleshooting.
