Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality analytics services to clients across the Pacific region.
* We are seeking a skilled professional to work closely with reinsurance teams, gathering and preparing data for client projects.
* You will utilize commercial catastrophe models and in-house models to generate outputs and interpret results.
* Leading catastrophe modelling for renewals, including client presentations, query resolution, and relationship development.
* Collaborating with actuarial teams to provide outputs and analysis for clients and prospects.
* Evaluating catastrophe model outputs and undertaking model evaluation studies for Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands.
* Integrating climate model outputs with catastrophe risk models to inform model adjustments and future projections.
* Providing real-time reporting and analysis of natural disasters and supporting clients post-event.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in geosciences, mathematics, or statistics, with experience in catastrophe modelling software, programming languages (R and Python preferred), and database software (SQL Server). Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and good problem-solving abilities are also essential.
Key Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
* A strong understanding of geoscientific principles and methodologies.
* Experience working with catastrophe modelling software, such as RMS or VESPER.
* Proficiency in programming languages R and Python, with expertise in SQL Server and Microsoft Excel.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
