Signature Care is looking for a full-time Maintenance Officer for our residence in Jimboomba. This position presents an exciting chance to shape the service delivery of Signature Care into the future during a period of significant change in the aged care sector.
**About the Role**:
We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Officer to assist in maintaining the building and grounds of this brand new, state of the art building to a high standard, having regard for the comfort and wellbeing of residents and advising on replacement or repairs as required. You will also have close support from the the GM Property Services.
**Skills and Requirements for this Role**:
To be successful in this position you will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Experience in building maintenance and gardening, landscaping
- Knowledge of Aged Care industry is desirable
- Thorough understanding of all legislative requirements pertaining to maintenance and repairs i.e. OH&S; & Fire/Evacuation
- Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks including use of tools and equipment
- Willingness to be contribute to after-hours maintenance requirements from time to time
- Excellent communication skills and respect for residents and colleagues
- Previous experience working autonomously with limited direction
- Be able to make decisions about costs and priorities and documenting a full plan for work to be completed
- Supervise and monitor grounds and systems
- Contribute to the support of aged care residents by providing quality service as required, and with respect to dignity and privacy.
**Essential**:
- Victorian drivers license
- Reliable, strong work ethic
- Valid police check, less than 12 months old
**Preferred**:
- Trade Qualification e.g. Landscaping or OHS Qualification is advantageous
