We are seeking an experienced Applications Engineer to join our Sales team in Sydney. The successful candidate will work closely with the outside sales team, direct customer queries, provide technical support, and collaborate with other vendor stakeholders and project managers.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
* Analysing specifications and performing sizing and selection of pressure relief valves, regulators, rupture discs, control valves, accessories, and isolation valves
* Developing datasheets and submitting Technical and Commercial Tenders
* Preparing quotes to meet customer specifications, reviewing selection, and submitting MRO and Project quotations
* Liaising with suppliers, service, and spare parts teams for technical assistance and troubleshooting
* Processing purchase orders on suppliers as part of the order entry process
* Collaborating with Pacific Controls Sales teams and regional account holders in pursuit of projects to achieve order conversion and maximise potential for Pacific Controls products and services
* Actively participating in scheduled Managers and Sales Meetings to ensure all aspects of Business Management and Sales are fully understood and implemented in conformance with OHSE requirements and legislation
* Extending education, training, and expertise to external & internal stakeholders
* Organising and hosting technical customer presentations/discussions or meetings
* Aligning the customer stocking, pricing, and commercial strategic plan with Pacific Controls overall strategies
* Gathering competitive intelligence and improving customer service, consistent with division sales strategies and account plans
* Identifying customer concerns and recommending solutions
Required Skills and Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess:
* A bachelor's degree in engineering (ideally Mechanical/Chemical/Instrumentation)
* Preferably 3-5 years of experience with pressure relief valves, regulators, control valves, automation, and valve sizing software; however, we welcome applications from candidates with 1-3 years of experience given they are a good fit for the role
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Strong multitasking and organisational skills
* Microsoft Office 365 experience particularly with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar CRM Tools
* Experience working with software programs such as Control Valve, Regulator, Safety Relief Valve, and Isolation Valve Sizing Tools and using Online Training Portals
* Knowledge of different industrial standards of process controls equipment e.g., ISO, ASME, API
