Adventure Camp Group Leader
School Holiday Casual Role – Hangdog Adventure Camp.
Love working with kids and being outdoors? Hangdog Adventure Camp is looking for fun, reliable Group Leaders to help run our school holiday adventure camps. This is a casual role during school holidays, perfect for teachers, outdoor rec grads, childcare workers, uni students, or anyone who genuinely enjoys leading activities and keeping kids engaged.
This is not a babysitting job. You'll be actively leading games, challenges, and outdoor activities as part of a structured program — while making sure kids are safe, included, and having a great time.
If you bring the energy, we'll give you the program.
What You'll Be Doing
* Leading fun, age-appropriate adventure activities based on a set daily program
* Supervising and engaging groups of children throughout the day
* Creating a positive, inclusive, high-energy environment
* Managing group behaviour in a calm, confident way
* Supporting other Group Leaders and Camp Coordinators
* Upholding the Hangdog ethos: fun first, safety always
Activities may include outdoor games, team challenges, problem-solving tasks, and adventure-style experiences — not sitting around watching kids play on iPads.
Who This Is Ideal For
This role is a great fit if you are:
* A casual or part-time teacher looking for extra holiday work
* Studying or qualified in Outdoor Recreation, Sport & Rec, Education, or similar
* Working (or have worked) in childcare, OSHC, or youth programs
* A uni student who's good with kids and confident leading groups
* Someone energetic, responsible, and not afraid to be a little silly
What We're Looking For
* Confident working with primary school–aged children
* Minimum 6 months experience working with children in a supervised group setting
* Strong communication and leadership skills
* Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused
* Positive attitude and high energy
* Ability to follow a program while keeping things fun
* Must be 18 years or older
Desirable (but not essential):
* First Aid & CPR
* Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain one)
* Experience in camps, schools, childcare, or outdoor programs
