Job Opportunity for a Senior Hairdresser
We are an exciting, child-focused hair salon dedicated to creating a fun, safe, and welcoming experience for kids of all ages — including children with sensory needs and additional support requirements. We are now looking for a talented and passionate senior hairdresser to join our growing team.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced stylist who loves working with children and can bring creativity, patience, and professionalism to every appointment. You'll be responsible for delivering high-quality kids' haircuts and styling, supporting themed hairdos for birthdays and events, and helping create a positive salon environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide professional kids' haircuts, trims, and styling
* Create on-trend kids' hairstyles (braids, curls, updos, party styles, etc.)
* Work confidently with children of all ages, including those with sensory or special needs
* Maintain a clean, safe, and child-friendly salon environment
* Communicate warmly with parents and children to ensure an enjoyable experience
* Support junior staff and uphold high service standards
Required Skills & Experience
* Minimum 3–5 years hairdressing experience
* Strong background in kids' haircuts and styling
* Skilled in braiding, creative styling, and event-themed looks
* Experience working with children, including those with anxiety or sensory sensitivities
* Ability to remain patient, calm, and engaging
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
Qualifications
* Certificate III in Hairdressing (required)
* Certificate IV in Hairdressing (highly regarded)
* Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
* First Aid Certificate (preferred)
