Catering (Kitchen) Assistant – BOH
Full‐time position in Perth. The role supports the Chef in back‐of‐house catering operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the Chef with food preparation, including washing, peeling, chopping, and sorting ingredients.
* Perform general kitchen hand duties, cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment and workspaces.
* Clean and maintain designated kitchen areas, appliances, utensils, and tools, including canopy and range hoods, fridges, grill, and deep fry bays.
* Clean, wash and store cooking equipment and pots/pans.
* Sort and organize stock, ensuring proper storage and rotation of ingredients.
* Assist with minor cooking tasks such as preheating food and preparing simple dishes.
* Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
* Support the catering team in delivering high‐quality service to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
* Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations.
* Basic knife skills and knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
* Capacity to work efficiently in a fast‐paced environment.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
* Preference for 1‐2 years of experience in the hospitality industry.
