Superannuation Warehouse is seeking a dedicated and experienced Accountant to join our professional team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated accounting professional to develop their career within a specialised financial services environment, supporting clients with accurate financial reporting, taxation compliance, and superannuation-related accounting services.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reports, and statements in accordance with accounting standards
* Prepare financial statements and taxation documents for individuals, companies, trusts, and Self-Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSFs)
* Assist with SMSF accounting, administration, compliance, and reporting requirements
* Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS), GST returns, income tax returns, and other statutory obligations
* Manage accounting transactions, reconciliations, and financial documentation
* Review and analyse financial information to ensure accuracy and compliance
* Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting processes
* Maintain compliance with Australian taxation legislation, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
* Liaise with clients, external auditors, financial advisors, and regulatory authorities where required
* Maintain and update accounting systems and client records
* Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, efficiency, and service quality
* Provide professional support and advice to clients regarding accounting matters
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field
* Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience as an Accountant
* Strong understanding of Australian accounting principles, taxation requirements, and compliance obligations
* Experience with SMSF accounting and administration will be highly regarded
* Experience using accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, Class Super, BGL, or similar platforms
* Strong Microsoft Excel and financial reporting skills
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently
* CPA/CA qualification (or working towards completion) will be considered an advantage
