Operational Governance Manager

The Local Government Inspectorate is an independent agency that investigates offences and monitors governance arrangements of councils.
* We investigate alleged breaches and offences against the Act.
* We monitor governance arrangements of councils.
* We investigate alleged breaches of electoral provisions.
* We conduct targeted governance examinations and broader systemic reviews of councils for governance requirements.
* We investigate allegations of serious or gross misconduct by councillors and senior council staff.
* We collaborate with other agencies to undertake prosecutions for breaches of the Act.
About this role, you will report to the Chief Municipal Inspector and be responsible for providing leadership to the investigation, compliance, and operational team.
Your duties will include:
* Managing the operational teams to deliver services consistent with statutory regulation and operational policy.
* Ensuring appropriate operational practices around planning of investigations including execution and demand forecasting within investigations process.
* Developing, implementing, and maintaining best practice investigation/compliance frameworks.
To succeed in this role, you will have extensive experience in investigations, compliance, audit, law or allied fields, with progressively increasing levels of responsibility.
