About The Role Reporting to the Business Manager, Office of the Deputy Director-General (ODDG), Environment and Heritage Policy and Programs, the Senior Human Resource Officer will play a key role in shaping the division's workforce and culture.
This role is your opportunity to provide expert advice and deliver impactful solutions across recruitment, performance management, employee complaints, and case management.
You'll also lead business improvement initiatives and foster a workplace culture that values diversity, inclusion, and the contributions of First Nations people.
As part of a fast-paced and dynamic team, you'll work collaboratively to deliver high quality people and culture services that support the division's strategic goals.
As the Senior Human Resource Officer, you will Provide expert advice on human resource policies, procedures, and workforce management issues, including recruitment, performance management, and case management.
Support the Deputy Director-General and Business Manager in delivering key projects and meeting deadlines.
Analyse and prepare reports and correspondence on human resource initiatives to inform decision-making.
Drive continuous improvement by reviewing and implementing process enhancements.
Manage the divisional shared mailbox, ensuring professional and timely communication.
Champion a workplace culture that supports First Nations people and contributes to better outcomes for their communities.
What We Are Looking For We're seeking a proactive and adaptable HR professional who thrives in a fast paced environment and is ready to make an impact.
You'll bring: Strong knowledge of operational human resource functions, including recruitment and workforce management, with the ability to provide expert advice.
A solid understanding, or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge, of human resource legislation and policies in a government context.
Exceptional communication skills to deliver clear, concise, and influential advice to stakeholders at all levels.
Experience using systems such as Aurion, i Learn, Power-BI, and Timekeeper.
A proven ability to build strong relationships and contribute as an effective team member.

The ability to lead and deliver on multiple projects within tight timeframes.
