About the role
Our residential care program offers a supportive environment for young people with high and complex needs. The Residential Care Worker plays a crucial role in responding to their emotional and functional needs, developing personal skills, and ensuring the day-to-day operation of the unit runs smoothly.
The position involves participating in the development of individualized plans, implementing activities that promote social and emotional growth, and providing guidance on life skills. Our team works collaboratively to create a safe and stable environment for our residents.
We have permanent Full-Time & Part-time opportunities based in Gladstone Park, VIC within our Policy & Performance program. The position reports to the TBER Team Leader.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* A Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential and Out of Home Care) or other similar tertiary qualifications.
* A genuine interest in young people and their wellbeing.
* Demonstrated empathy for young people in our care in an open-minded and nonjudgmental manner.
* Highly developed capacity for emotional self-regulation including the capacity to set and maintain consistent boundaries to provide safety, stability and consistency.
You must have a:
* Valid and current Driver's Licence;
* Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by us);
* Valid Employee Working with Children Check;
* Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check (for risk assessed / client facing roles). We can assist successful candidates with their application.
