About the Role:
This is a pivotal position within the History & Technology Department, responsible for leading and implementing various collection management activities. The successful applicant will focus on enhancing access to social history and technology collections, managing digital assets and rights, and ensuring successful project delivery through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Leading projects to preserve and enhance access to social history and technology collections,
2. Leveraging expertise in collection management systems like KE EMu, MVWISE, and digital asset tools,
3. Planning and delivering projects using strong project management principles,
4. Collaborating with stakeholders and fostering a culture of growth and excellence within the team.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in museum collection management, including systems like KE EMu and MVWISE, as well as familiarity with digital asset management systems (DAMs) and digital archiving systems (MV Records). They will also demonstrate proven ability to deliver complex projects aligned with organisational goals, strong leadership and team management skills, excellent organisational, time management, and communication abilities. A tertiary qualification in Museum Studies, History, or another humanities discipline is desirable but not essential.
