About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Physiotherapy Head of Department to lead the physiotherapy service at the Royal Hospital for Women. This pivotal role holds operational accountability for the Physiotherapy Department, reporting operationally to the Director of Nursing and Midwifery and maintaining professional accountability to the Physiotherapy Discipline Advisor.
The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership, guiding and managing the physiotherapy service to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care. You will champion clinical excellence, support staff development, and drive service improvements aligned with NSW Ministry of Health (MoH) and SESLHD policies, procedures, and standards.

Provide strategic and operational leadership of the Physiotherapy Department.
Lead clinical excellence and support staff development.
Drive service improvements aligned with MoH and SESLHD policies.
Ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care.
Selected Criteria
Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and current registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
Extensive clinical and leadership experience as a practising physiotherapist within Women's Health.
Ability to provide high-level leadership and strategic management of staff, resources, and services to meet current and future clinical service requirements.
Strong collaborative skills in a multi-disciplinary team and ability to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement.
Experience initiating, leading, completing, and sharing quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes, with evidence-based practice.
Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills.
Current driver's licence (or willingness to travel).
