The Role
As the successful applicant, you would be involved in creating graphics for both print and online platforms, aimed at effectively communicating and engaging diverse audiences. This includes designing animations, interactive elements, static graphics, page layouts, and online interfaces. Collaborating closely with clients, content experts, and learning media specialists, you will ensure a thorough understanding of project requirements and objectives. You will adeptly edit graphics to align with established styles and design principles while adhering to administrative procedures and protocols.
Staying informed about the latest trends and best practices in graphic design and technologies is crucial to the role, enabling you to provide informed advice and facilitate continuous improvement of products through effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
School of Isolated and Distance Education
The School of Isolated and Distance Education (SIDE) is the main centre for Kindergarten to Year 12 distance education and online learning. It provides quality education for students who for various reasons cannot attend classes in a mainstream school. SIDE caters for Western Australian students who are:
* geographically isolated
* temporarily living overseas or travelling within Australia or overseas and not enrolled at a local school
* enrolled full-time in a registered dance/ballet school
* involved in elite performance including sport, theatre and music
* school-based students whose local schools are unable to offer appropriate courses
* unable to attend regular school due to severe health conditions
SIDE offers the same education opportunities and support as most primary and secondary schools, including support for students with disabilities, students with learning difficulties and gifted and talented students. A feature of the student experience at SIDE is the support from teachers in all years, and our secondary student services team. We have a broad range of Year 11 and 12 courses, catering for all post‐school destinations, including university, TAFE, private providers and employment.

Qualifications
* Demonstrated experience in graphic design and multimedia development for electronic learning environments and in transferring multimedia elements between different media (e.g. online and print) and computer platforms.
* Demonstrated well developed computer skills and experience in the use of industry standard tools.
* Demonstrated well-developed analytical, interpretive and conceptual skills in a graphic design environment.
* Demonstrated sound written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team environment and with individuals at all levels.
