The opportunity:
As our Payroll Officer, you will be accountable for the delivery of payroll tasks within KBR Australia’s Compensation and Benefits team. You will support the delivery of payroll for KBR Australia in conjunction with the People Shared Services team and our onshore and offshore Finance teams.
You will manage all pre-payroll activities, answer payroll queries, and support the implementation of new FinOps and payroll systems. As part of this role, you will be expected to develop close working relationships with key internal stakeholders, including Tax, Finance, and People & Culture, as well as any key external stakeholders/vendors.
This position is a permanent, full-time opportunity, ideally based in Melbourne however candidates in Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane will be considered.
In this position you will:
1. Deliver all pre-payroll administrative activities for fortnightly and monthly pay cycles
2. Calculation and processing of termination payments, redundancies, back payments, overpayments, superannuation lodgments etc.
3. Ensure processes are followed to minimize errors and duplication
4. Provide advice to the business on payroll queries and various payroll issues that may arise
5. Support the coordination and implementation of all employee benefits
6. Keep the People & Culture team and wider business up to date on key legislative changes and the impact this will have on their business
7. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders (People & Culture, Finance, Tax, Lines of Business, and external vendors) providing high levels of customer service
As the ideal candidate, you will bring:
8. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a payroll role
9. Excellent communication skills in a range of situations both written and oral
10. A strategic and commercial awareness of payroll impacts
11. An enthusiastic and flexible attitude to work
12. The ability to be a strong and motivated team player
13. The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
14. Project management skills with the ability to plan and prioritize work, and meet deadlines
15. Previous experience with SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, and/or Workday
