ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Control Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, implementation, and commissioning of control, instrumentation, and automation systems across our mining and processing projects. Working closely with electrical, mechanical, and process engineering teams, you'll develop robust control strategies that ensure plant systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSBILITIES:
* Coordinate and prepare site QA/QC plans and procedures.
* Conduct site inspections and participate in acceptance testing for civil engineering packages.
* Review IFC drawings and prepare statements of work for tendering packages.
* Liaise with suppliers to resolve construction/installation issues and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
* Lead and participate in QA/QC inspections and provide technical oversight on rectifications.
* Maintain accurate reporting on construction and installation activities.
* Apply civil engineering principles to ensure projects meet design and legislative requirements.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation, or related Engineering discipline
* Construction White Card
* Current C Class Driver's Licence
* Ability to work on-site during construction and commissioning phases
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
* Minimum 5 years' experience in control systems engineering within mining or minerals processing
* Hands-on experience with PLC/DCS systems (Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider)
* Experience with SCADA platforms (Ignition, WinCC, Citect)
* Strong understanding of field instrumentation, control valves, and motor control systems
* Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP)
* Ability to interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, and electrical schematics
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively across disciplines
