About The Position
The La Trobe Rural Health School (LRHS) is the largest rural health school in Australia. The LRHS is based at all four regional campuses of the University: Bendigo, Mildura, Shepparton and Albury-Wodonga. The School offers courses across a wide range of health disciplines. The Discipline of Dentistry and Oral Health delivers undergraduate courses in Dental Science and Oral Health Science and has moved to a purpose-built rural dental and oral health clinical teaching school on the Bendigo Health campus. We seek an individual committed to high-quality teaching and an excellent student experience. You will be familiar with innovative technology and approaches, promoting La Trobe as a leader in dental education in Australia. Our network of specialist leads and clinical educators support our delivery model to produce outstanding oral health practitioners.
A Level C academic is expected to develop curriculum, teach and/or undertake research and/or other scholarly work relevant to Dentistry and Oral Health. An academic at this level will make a significant contribution to the discipline at the national level, normally playing a major role or providing significant leadership in scholarly, research and/or professional activities relevant to the profession or discipline.
Skills and Experience
Completion of a PhD or equivalent accreditation recognised by the University/profession.
Demonstrated effectiveness in curriculum development and teaching with a commitment to excellence.
Strong record of research publication with evidence of quality and impact.
Demonstrated leading practice with a reputation at state/national level.
Proven liaison with external organisations, agencies and/or the public.
Skills in preparation for Higher Education teaching evidenced by a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education or equivalent (e.g., FHEA).
Full registration as a general dentist or a specialist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra).
